    Hola Mountainbikers.

Perdone por escriven en inglesa pero no hablo mucho espanyol donde escrivo en ingles.

The openstreetmap is probabely well known to most of you. On openmtbmap.org I have uploaded maps for Garmin devices based on Openstreetmap with special focus on mountainbikers.

During the first weeks I only had maps of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy for download, but now I render maps for all off Europe once peer week.

So you might ask what is so special about the maps offered on Openmtbmap.org - get mountainbike / bicycle/ hiking maps / Karten based on Openstreetmap Mountainbike and Bicycle Autorouting Revamped - New Maps / Karten - Open Mountainbike Maps.

    1. Autorouting is made especially for cycling and mountainbiking.
    2. Autorouting recognises openstreetmap tags like mtb:scale and mtb:scale:uphill ( Key:mtb scale - OpenStreetMap ). You can also see the difficulty if tagged correctly rendered besides the way.
    3. Bicycle and Mountainbike Routes are highlighted and easily distinguishable as overlay.
    4. Tracktype is considered for routing

    5. There are two modes for Autorouting. Please leave your Garmin GPS on car/motorcycle setting and don't check any of the avoidance settings. Now you will be routed preferably alongside footways, difficult highway=track, highway=path with the preference to guide you alongside the nicest mountainbike trails alongside your way. (off course that mountainbike specific information has to be tagged accordingly)
    - If however you check Avoid "Toll Roads" (in Espanol on Vista HCX--> Menú principal --> Configurar menú --> Config. creacion rutas --> opciones Seguir ctra..--> check/activate "Cambias de sentida") You get routing suitable for bicycling. Meaning that bicycle=no is respected, no footways, highway=track only if tracktype=grade1 or tracktype=grade2 - exclusion of any way with mtb:scale=2 to 5 and mtb:scale:uphill=3-5.

    ----
Currently in Spain there is not much mountainbike related information present in the maps. I do hope that by having maps that display this information on your Garmin GPS you get motivated to go out and get that mapping info for your favourite trails so other people can find and check them out easily.

No probs. Yo entiendo un poco espanol. Yo hablo frances por este yo entiendo mas o menos espanol pero no hablo bueono or saviar escrive.

I hope you have fun with the maps. Report back here on how you like them (especially the autorouting). In my opinion they are the best maps for Garmin GPS for cycling and mountainbiking in areas where OSM has already good data coverage - so mainly in the agglomeration around big cities.

Felicidades StreemeCarver, y gracias por el trabajo.
.El mapa (por lo menos la vers spain que me he bajado yo) no muestra los senderos etc, es bastante pobre para mtb.

Hay alguna versión con mas detalle?.

    Un saludo

The map uses mapdata of OpenStreetMap

You can help to make it better.
I do render all "senderos" that you can find on openstreemap. Outside of cities of course many Spanish people still have to participate to get the map data.

In Germany, Netherlands and Austria you can already see many trails, pathes and cycleways.

Next weeks updates will bring more POI and better searching for them in the find menu.
